India is looking for hard working and talented students good with computer skills, communication skills, to place the country at a prominent position on the global map. The doors of global job market are opened to students who can speak fluently, write legibly compute quickly and analyze logically. So Jawahar Knowledge Centres are initiated by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in degree colleges to help students learn and practice employability skills it is started in 2015 and this year till now 70 students registered their names in second batch.
JKC curriculum is of 250 hours, scheduled in 3 months. Importance is given to communication skills (60 hours), analytical skills (60 hours), technical skills(60 hours) soft skills (30 hours) general awareness (30 hours) and ethical values (10 hours). Highly qualified mentors for different fields were selected for uninterrupted JKC Activity. JKC provides quality study material, prepared by the expert committee to all registered students. JKC main aim is to provide solution to the problem unemployment faced by the students studying degree courses. JKC imparts requisite skills relevant for dynamic job market and to enable students to seize employment opportunities. It provides latest technologies to the students from marginalize sections of the society and to encourage them to compete with their urban counterparts. JKC helps students realize their potential and aim high in life and to motivate students to be creative, independent and self reliant. It provides adequate knowledge and ensure empowerment of girl students by providing jobs skills. JKC conducts job fairs and campus recruitment drives and to facilitate the placement of trained students. Feedback and grievance are collected from time to time regarding the training programme for successful rectification of problems encountered by students.
Students are benefited by acquiring job related skills, access to excellent resources, exposure to real time projects, compare to environment for faster growth and campus placement opportunities. College acquires reputation and enriched academic environment.
A registration fee of Rs. 50/- is being collected from students to utilize the amount for the state level coordination of JKC Activities and also for improving placements.
